Job Description

TERMS: Full-Time Contract

CONTRACT DATES: Dec 1, 2019 to Nov 30, 2020

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Director of Operations and supporting the Production team, the Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day logistics associated with delivering high-quality activations for Somewherelses clients. The Production Manager works in tandem with the Project team (Project Lead(s), Production Manager(s), Production Coordinator(s)) to ensure client expectations are being exceeded at every opportunity. The Production Manager works independently with some guidance; must be comfortable in a highly aligned, loosely coupled work environment.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assessing projects and their suppliers, resource  and transportation requirements
  • Creating execution plans to bring ideas and concepts to life
  • Liaising with venues to align production objectives within venue protocols
  • Building security plans to ensure event attendees safety
  • Planning and overseeing of production and run of show schedules
  • Negotiating with suppliers to maximize our return on investments
  • Creating and maintaining workflow plans on project management software
  • Sourcing, organizing, and managing project-specific suppliers
  • Working in tandem with other production staff for planning and execution of events
  • Conducting site visits and identifying risks and opportunities
  • Managing project budgets according to target profit margins
  • Creating site plans and installation mockups
  • Ensuring projects fit within client brand guidelines
  • Managing storage units and inventory systems
  • Completing administration tasks, including contributing to company reports and policies
  • Onsite conditions may include heavy lifting, long event days, loud work environments
And performing other related duties as required to fulfill the role.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have the appropriate credentials and a proven record as a collaborative leader within a company of relevant activity and scope.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering transformative experiences in a dynamic work environment and have a thorough knowledge of event production. The following qualifications are minimum expectations for a successful candidate:
  • Three years’ minimum work experience in an event and/or entertainment production role
  • Experience working within strict brand guidelines
  • Experience sourcing suppliers
  • Hands-on production experience
  • Experience managing project budgets and maintaining specific target profit margins
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-driven, motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Working knowledge of G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
  • Valid driver's license is a must and must be able to drive a standard cube van

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: Performance review based on meeting, and exceeding, set targets related to client satisfaction and target margin. KPIs related to the delivery of the project on time, on budget and with customer delight (high customer satisfaction); meeting target profit margin.
