The Canadian Improv Games (CIG) is a national charity organization that brings improvisational theatre programs to high schools across Canada through unique curriculum and events. Dedicated to empowering youth, CIG’s programs are formatted to build and promote invaluable skills including Positivity, Communication, Leadership, Commitment and Teamwork.  Founded in Ottawa, Ontario in 1977, CIG is now in its 43rd season and is home to over 100,000 alumni, thousands of current students and programs operating in fifteen cities across Canada.



Job Description

Job Summary
The Operations Coordinator provides administrative leadership in supporting the execution of Canadian Improv Games programs and events through the coordination and dissemination of information across various departments and teams. The position is responsible for day-to-day administrative duties, coordinating program registration, drafting program documents, monitoring the progress of programs, leading all promotions and communications, conducting research, developing fundraising and marketing initiatives and overseeing all aspects of the organization’s national volunteer program. This is a fast-paced, highly deadline-driven role that requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional information and project management skills as well as demonstrated experience in large-scale event planning.
 
Work performed
·       Collect, update and disseminate information across departments and to remote event producers across Canada
·       Liaise with program registrants to answer general questions and to ensure all program requirements and deadlines are shared in a timely manner
·       Process all program registration for provincial and national programs from start to completion
·       Manage all internal communications related to annual programs deadlines
·       Produce content across various platforms including internal newsletters, social media channels, website, conference guides, event materials and registration forms
·       Contribute to the regular standardization of the organization’s internal databases 
·       Assist with fundraising goals by helping to create donor and marketing campaigns
·       Contribute to grant and sponsorship proposals
·       Assist with media interactions and coordinate media releases
·       Oversee the CIG’s national volunteer program throughout the year including assisting staff with onboarding, processing applications & Vulnerable Sector Record Checks and building online communication tools 
·       Working on-site at various events throughout the year assisting with logistics, registration and communications (travel required)
·     Other duties as required 
 

Requirements:

·       A minimum of two (2) years of experience in administration, information management, communications as well as a background working with a large team of volunteers
·       Demonstrated and transferable leadership skills that support working with a remote team
·       Experience with Vulnerable Sector Record Checks
·       Highly motivated self-starter, result-oriented, multitasker
·       Deadline-driven and enjoys fast-paced work environment
·       Exceptional communication skills required to participate in weekly conference calls, training sessions and brainstorming meetings
·       Advanced research skills
·       Post-secondary education or certification in arts administration an asset
·       Intermediate technical skills with Wordpress, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Facebook Events, Eventbrite, all Microsoft Office applications, Google Drive as well as technical experience with proprietary internal databases
·       Experience with theatre an asset

Additional Info:

This is full-time, 16 month contract (February 15, 2020 – June 15, 2021)

Office hours are 11am - 7pm EST Monday to Friday. Availability on evenings and weekends required during event periods

Salary 35-42K commensurate with experience
