aluCine Latin Film & Media Arts Festival
aluCine Festival is an annual showcase of Latin American, Canadian and international short films and media arts. The festival aims to give a space and voice to Latin American artists living in Canada and around the world. During the festival we have film screenings, talks, master classes, performances and parties. Organizing such a numerous amount of events to take place over the span of a few days requires a lot of preparation and logistics as well as impeccable execution. In order to prepare, the team works together in not only organizing the festival, but also publicizing it.


Job Description

The Fundraising and Partnership Coordinator is responsible for leading the organization’s
individual, corporate, and foundation fundraising programs. Working closely with the Executive
Director, the FPC develops, initiates and evaluates fundraising initiatives in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.

The FPC will develop a strategy to diversify and increase revenue, we expect 70% or more financial, and 30% or less in-kind sponsorship. This position is an exciting opportunity to contribute leadership to an internationally recognized Latin American film industry organization – collaborating with people who are passionate about film. We are seeking an energetic and innovative fundraising professional with a range of fundraising knowledge and experience, a results-driven team player and bridge-builder.


- Create sponsorship packages 
- Providing administrative support for the festival office, as required
- Working some evening and weekends, particularly during the Festival and at some special events
- Research and identify prospective strategic partners (broadcast, print, online media)
- Manage aspects of sponsor correspondence
- Enter and validate sponsor contact information
- Draft, record, and track sponsorship contracts
- Monitor and track sponsorship fulfillment
- Assist with researching prospective donors/partners 
- Update/Compile database of prospective funding/sponsorship sources 
- Monitor grants and fundraising applications 
- Coordinating special projects and mailings
- Spanish and or Portuguese (written and verbal form) an asset

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • In consultation with the Executive Director, provide key leadership on all individual and corporate fundraising, ensuring growth
  • Develop, initiate and evaluate an annual fundraising plan with targets, tactics and timelines
  • Ensure fundraising plans encompass individual giving, private and corporate foundations; including direct appeal donation campaigns, donor cultivation and management
  •  Ensure the smooth running of necessary operational systems, continually generate new sponsorship and major gift leads
  • Develop customized partnership proposals for new and existing partners and donors; manage relationships through all steps of the process 
  • Discover and drive strategic opportunities related to revenue generation, working with key team members to identify these opportunities
  • Work directly with Marketing team in executing annual electronic and traditional fundraising campaigns
  • Direct hospitality management to donors and sponsors during Festivals

The qualified candidate should possess the following skills and/or qualifications:
  • 4 years’ experience and demonstrated success in individual and / or corporate fundraising and donor management
  • Demonstrated success soliciting and securing in-kind gifts of $10,000 or more
  • Demonstrated ability to manage annual giving campaigns
  • Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines, Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Codes of Conduct and other guidelines and best practices governing non-profit organizations ensuring that all fundraising activities and policies comply with ethical principles and legal standards.
  • Excellent customer service, hospitality and relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills
  • Commitment to and experience working within an anti-racism and anti-oppression framework, with experience working with diverse communities
  • Knowledge of the film festival sector and the film industry
