Job Description

Pinnguaq is hiring Digital Skills Support Facilitators to deliver coding and digital skills workshops and camps in remote and rural communities in Canada. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for teaching digital technology to youth and adults and who has the leadership ability to manage a classroom and deliver lessons as part of a small team.

Note: This is a contract position that could be done as part of a paid internship through school or in addition to another job (like supply teaching).


  • Travel to communities as part of a team to rural and remote regions of Canada for 1-3 weeks per trip.
  • Work with a team
  • Keep classrooms safe.
  • Support evaluation and community surveys, provide project reporting back to the evaluation team to help improve the delivered programming.
  • Support lessons in technology to students based on the age and ability of the students
  • Answer questions and provide explanations for basic coding and digital skills development.
  • Capture the events through photographs and video, coordinate local media coverage and participate in interviews
  • Manage classroom logistics, including snack and bathroom breaks
  • Address parent and community questions and concerns if necessary
  • Report for scheduled travelling on time.
  • Represent the Pinnguaq Association in remote communities in a respectful and sensitive manner.



A combination of experience in Education and Technology would be ideal in this position.

Knowledge of education, culture and needs of Indigenous community living is essential to this position.

Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

Working Knowledge Of:

  • Google Suites
  • Interest in learning software such as Graphic Scale, Scratch, Twine
  • Comfort with Logistics and travel
  • Comfort working with Youth
  • Understanding of teaching Basic Coding Concepts K -12
  • STEAM Education
