The Canadian Film Centre (CFC) is a charitable cultural organization that supports, develops and accelerates the content, careers and companies of Canadian creative and entrepreneurial talent in the screen-based and digital industries. Compensation: $14.00/hour
 
Hours of Work: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week)
 
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director of Partnerships & Events, Events Manager, and the Coordinator, Development & Events, the Development & Events Intern-Volunteers’ duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
Volunteer Recruiting & Management (BBQ):
  • Supervise and manage a volunteer network (e.g., recruitment, screening, interview, placement, training, orientation retention and recognition)
  • Participate in the development and delivery of orientation and training programs for volunteers
  • Promote volunteering (internally and externally) through recruitment, publicity strategies and campaigns
  • Interview and recruit volunteers and ensure they are appropriately matched and trained for a position
  • Prepare all volunteer information and commitment forms
  • Create reports and update volunteer manual post-events
Provide departmental support to the Development and Events team including:
  • Database entry
  • Create events guest lists
  • Administrative support, filing, and taking meeting minutes
  • Sponsorship management support: researching new potential sponsors, proposals,               invoicing
  • Compile sponsorship reports post event
  • Prepare tax receipts 


Assist with CFC events:

  • CFC Annual Garden Party

  • CFC Annual Fundraiser BBQ

  • Monthly Circle of Supporters screenings (when available)

  • Program Events set up

  • Internal meetings, lunches etc.

  • External events

Other duties:

  • Attend all departmental meetings and events listed above
  • Additional duties and events may be assigned as required
  • Reception relief as required

 


 
 
 


Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

·         Volunteer management experience

·         Event planning experience

·         Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail

·         Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

·         Exceptional at multitasking, problem solving, meeting deadlines and working under pressure

·         Organized, resourceful and motivated, with strong team-building skills

 

 


Additional Info:

Assets:

·         Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

·         Working knowledge of Salesforce (or similar database)

·         Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & Acrobat an asset
