Job Description

The Associate Producer has the responsibility to define and establish the project’s overall strategy. Planning, organizing and supervising are part of his day-to-day tasks as he/she’s the one person closely involved in every step of the way, from conception to final operation. He/She represents the project and is the one managing relationships with the client while ensuring efficient communication between the latter and the production team. He/She’s responsible for the on-time on-budget delivery of every aspect of the project that goes according to pre-determined criteria. He/She manages risks and advises teams by giving clear recommendations. He/She’s a person with highly remarkable leadership and interpersonal skills. He/She’s a talented communicator and a positive influencer.

 

Working closely with the entire Creativiva team, the Associate Producer is responsible for the development, delivery and management of all Creativiva produced work. The Associate Producer will lead and manage the producing teams and create, oversee all timelines, project budgets ensuring realistic revenue, cost control and financial targets are achieved. The Associate Producer will play a key role in business development and negotiating commercial outcomes for Creativiva.

Functions & Responsibilities:

 

- Take the lead producing role on assigned Creativiva projects and ensure the all produced work is delivered to the highest possible standards, on time and within budget

- Responsible for the overall management and delivery of assigned projects

- Define and establish the project’s overall strategy, planning, organizing and supervising: service proposals, contracts, budget breakdowns, schedules, processes, and objectives.

- Identify and analyze available resources for the realization of the project;

- Identify and analyze the project’s potential risks and ensure to minimize and control;

- Communicate project’s high-risks to the executive team;

- Research and identify optimal suppliers for the project;

- Prepare for the client project’s contractual and administrative documents, in collaboration with all internal participants;

- Plan and release billing while ensuring payment follow-up with clients;

- Assign tasks and delegate to Project team according to the established strategy and available expertise;

- Manage client relations, represent the project and empower the teams;

-Supervise the project’s evolution and ensure smooth operation by initiating valuable advice and recommendations to the teams 

- Ensure on-budget delivery, with a constant follow-up on costs and overall project progress;

- Plan and organize the project’s archival storage during the project;

- Act as an expert and positive influencer: assist, train and accompany in relation to the required expertise;

  • Develop and maintain business relationships with current and potential clients;
  • Develop and maintain a network of selected professionals in prescribed industries
  • Prepare service proposals and presentations to current and potential clients;

- Oversee rights and deal negotiations, both contractually and financially and take responsibility for the appointment of creative teams, artists and suppliers.

- Work with the head of strategy and development, finance and legal team on all production contracts, agreement terms, and conditions as well as making sure the best financial deals are in place.

- Oversee the day-to-day management of the Producing team, ensuring all areas of work are staffed and resourced to a consistently high standard.


 

Requirements:

We would love to get to know you if you have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Management and/or equivalent experience

- More than 5 years of experience in a Management position within a creative environment in the entertainment industry, in multimedia or in another related field involving creative content

- Experience with creation processes and touring is an asset 

- Good understanding of a project’s financial and juridical components: contracts, budgets, production costs, billing, taxing, intellectual properties, immigrants’ law, etc.;

- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Keynote, etc. / Pages, Keynote, Numbers);

- Understanding of each production phase and basic knowledge of the entertainment industry;

- Good marketing and negotiation skills;

- Extended general knowledge applicable to the fields of activities of the company's clientele;

- Demonstrated ability to handle and carry out multiple projects simultaneously, to work under pressure and in a team.

- Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills.

- A passionate interest in live entertainment.

- Availability to work outside of normal business hours.

- Willingness to travel as needed.


 

Additional Info:

This position is for 5 days a week Monday to Friday (9 am - 5 pm), Toronto West. This is a term contract position for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

 

Salary range based on relevant experience: 

$65-$85k/contract (12 months) plus a customizable health benefit package
