Organization Description

Mississauga Children's Choir
The Mississauga Children’s Choir was established in 1980 by community leaders who felt there was a strong need for a community choir so the youth of Mississauga could share in the joys of choral singing.  MCC represents the communities in which it serves and strives to foster inclusivity and diversity. The Mississauga Children’s Choir Choral Academy is centred around helping young singers develop their natural talents.  Our conductors and accompanists are highly experienced musicians, and our interactive rehearsals focus on musicianship, performance skills, musical knowledge and having fun. Our Choral Academy consists of four Choirs: Cantiamo, Training Choir, Junior Choir and Senior Choir. We start teaching basic music concepts to our youngest choristers and continue this music education through to our senior choristers. The choirs rehearse weekly and major performances take place at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre. The organization provides the highest level of musical education for children, with an equal focus on choral musicianship, choral performance, and service to the community
