ASSOCIATE PRODUCER - JOB DESCRIPTION

Creativiva is hiring an Associate Producer to join our Toronto-based show production team. As Associate Producer the successful candidate will be responsible for to define and establish the project’s overall strategy. Working closely with the the entire Creativiva team, the Associate Producer is responsible for the development, delivery and management of all Creativiva produced work. The Associate Producer will lead and manage production teams; creating and overseeing the management of all timelines, project budgets; ensuring realistic revenue, cost control and financial targets are achieved. The Associate Producer will also manage the day-to-day relationship with Creativiva’s clients, ensuring effective and efficient communications between the latter and the production and operations teams. The Associate Producer will also play a key role in business development and negotiating commercial outcomes for Creativiva. 
 

Responsibilities:

 Take the lead producing role on assigned Creativiva projects and ensure the all produced work is delivered to the highest possible standards, on time and within budget

  • Responsible for the overall management and delivery of assigned projects
  • Define and establish the project’s overall strategy, planning, organization and supervision: service proposals, contracts, budget breakdowns, schedules, processes and objectives.
  • Identify and analyze available resources for the realization of each project;
  • Identify and analyze project’s potential risks and ensure such risks are managed so that they are minimized and controlled;
  • Communicate project’s high-risks to executive team;
  • Research and identify optimal suppliers for each project;
  • Prepare the contractual and administrative documents for each project, in collaboration with all internal participants;
  • Plan and release billing while ensuring payment follow-up with client;
  • Assign tasks and delegate to project team members in accordance with the established strategy and available expertise;
  • Manage client relations, represent the project and empower the teams;
  • Supervise the evolution of each project and ensure a smooth operation by initiating valuable advice and recommendations to the project teams 
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-budget, with a constant follow-up on costs and overall project progress;
  • Plan and organize the project’s archival storage during the project;
  • Act as an expert and positive influencer on each project: assisting, training and accompanying team members  in relation to the required expertise;
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with current and potential clients;
  • Develop and maintain a network of selected professionals in prescribed industries;
  • Prepare service proposals and presentations for existing and prospective clients;
  • Oversee rights and deal negotiations, both contractually and financially and take responsibility for the appointment of creative teams, artists and suppliers.
  • Work with the head of strategy and development, finance and  legal team on all production contracts, agreeing terms and conditions, as well as making sure the best financial deals are in place;
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the production team on each project, ensuring all areas of work are staffed and resourced to a consistently high standard.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management and/or equivalent experience
  • More than 5 years of experience in a Management position within a creative environment in the entertainment industry, in multimedia or in another related field involving creative content
  • Experience with creation processes and touring is an asset 
  • Good understanding of a project’s financial and legal components: contracts, budgets, production costs, billing, taxation, intellectual property rights, immigration laws, etc.;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Keynote, etc. / Pages, Keynote, Numbers);
  • Understanding of each production phase and basic knowledge of entertainment industry;
  • Good marketing and negotiation skills;
  • Extended general knowledge applicable to the fields of activities of the company's clientele;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and carry out multiple projects simultaneously, to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills.
  • A passionate interest in live entertainment.
  • Motivated self-starter, ability to work independently with minimum direction;
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Availability to work outside of normal business hours.
  • Valid passport to travel internationally
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

This position is a full-time contract position and is based out of Creativiva’s Toronto headquarters.

 

This is a 12-month contract with a possibility of extension. The remuneration for this position is CAD$50-$70k annually based on relevant skills and experience and includes healthcare benefits.
