TIP 2 for 2021
FOR POSTERS:
In the Job Description or Required Skills section, highlight areas that are important to the position either by using bold or indicating the percentage of tasks dedicated to the position. For example, check out the posting for en/VISION Lab Lead Facilitator position at POV. The more a candidate understands the details of a position and what is expected, the less likely you'll experience going through lots of unqualified applications, let alone employee turnover later on. Remember folks, transparency is key.
FOR JOB SEEKERS:
Look for highlighted sections to get a better sense of what the position entails, what you will be working on the most, or which skills you will need to utilize the most. If you haven't yet, write out a list of your skills (what you've learned and have become proficient in), what you like doing (your passions), and what you are naturally talented at (your strengths), and see if you find the same words highlighted in the job description.
