INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
TIFF, a vibrant not-for-profit arts organization, is accepting applications for the paid position of:
BELL LIGHTBOX PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATION INTERN
Reporting to the Assistant, Programme Administration, Bell Lightbox, the Bell Lightbox Intern position is a fast-paced and dynamic internship that will allow the successful candidate to develop her or his skills in film programme management and arts administration. This position is ideal for a recent graduate of a post-secondary programme in Fine Arts, Film or Arts Administration.
The intern’s primary role will be to assist with day-to-day office tasks and short-term projects within the context of a busy, sometimes hectic, office environment. Every effort will be made to provide the intern with additional projects and responsibilities commensurate with her or his performance. The purpose of these extra projects is to provide the intern with opportunities to develop effective administrative and planning skills. Such projects will vary by the time of year, organizational requirements and the intern’s own interests.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Provide support to Assistant, Programme Administration, in administrative duties, including:
• Booking, scheduling, reconfirmations and minute taking, faxing, mailing, filing
• Assist with Cinematheque blog (including: sending weekly schedule to Cinematheque bloggers; posting relevant links and articles online; writing articles for the blog)
• Maintain Cinematheque website (including daily maintenance of film line-up, posting relevant links and articles on line, embedding trailers in film pages, and other duties)
• Drafting correspondence for niche outreach, as directed by Assistant and Senior Manager, Programme Administration, including social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter
• Research, as directed
• Assist with obtaining OFRB ratings as applicable
• Run errands, as needed (eg. to/from Jackman Hall and Bell Lightbox)
Provide support to the Manager, Editorial and Publications, in duties including:
• Research, copy-editing and proofing
• Coordinating the mailing of programme guides to donors, supporters and partner institutions
• Maintenance of programme guide distribution list and mailing list
• Coordinating delivery and return of archival photos between FRL and AGO as is necessary
• Sourcing film stills and images for the programme guide and website, as directed
Other duties, as assigned
Requirements
• Strong interest and familiarity with Film or Fine Arts
• Undergraduate degree with some specialization in the liberal arts is considered an asset
• Exceptional eye for detail and an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong ability to think both creatively and analytically
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite 2007
