HERITAGE PROGRAM SUPERVISOR
RECREATION ASSISTANT LEVEL 2
Parks, Recreation & Culture Department
Recreation Division

Overview:
The Heritage Program Supervisor will be responsible for the planning and supervision of Town-wide heritage programs, events and the day to day operations of the Richmond Hill Heritage Centre.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Heritage Services Coordinator, this part time position will provide the coordinator assistance in the development, implementation and supervision of the Heritage programs and events at the Heritage Centre and Town wide. The successful candidate will assist with gallery and curatorial responsibilities at the Heritage Centre. This position will be required to conduct tours, school/group programs and supervise evening and weekend programming as required. This successful candidate will also assist with the preparations for the Doors Open event. The Heritage Program Supervisor will be a 24 hour position year round from September until mid-June. From mid-June to September, the position will be 30 to 35 hours per week based on programming needs.




Requirements

You are a current student or a recent graduate of a Museum Studies, Education, Archaeology program or Recreation and/or Recreation Leadership program which is complemented by one (1) year of related experience, also you possess your High Five and your Standard First Aid/CPR/AED certification. You are a team player who is able to function in a multi task environment and have the ability to consistently meet deadlines. Superior organizational skills are essential with excellent written, verbal and computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point. Other necessary skills include self motivation and the ability to work with minimum supervision. You must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including daytime, evenings and weekends; possession of a valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle for use on corporate business are essential (mileage compensated). You will be required to provide current proof of vehicle insurance. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Security Screening conducted by the York Regional Police.

HOURS OF WORK: Flexible shifts; including daytime, evenings and weekends

RATE OF PAY: $13.00 / hour
