Organization Description

CANADA FBM2020
On October 6th, 2016, the Government of Canada signed the contract for Canada to be the Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2020. CANADA FBM2020 was then established in cooperation with the Association of Canadian Publishers (ACP) and l’Association nationale des éditeurs de livres (ANEL) to manage, in French and in English, the Canadian book publishing industry’s role/involvement in the Canada as Guest of Honour (GoH) initiative at the 2020 Frankfurt Book Fair.
CANADA FBM2020 receives its funding from the Department of Canadian Heritage, and has strategic oversight from the Frankfurt 2020 Steering Committee (comprised of members from the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Canada Council for the Arts and Global Affairs Canada, as well as CANADA FBM2020).
As a not-for-profit association, CANADA FBM2020 receives input from its independent board of directors and will work with key government and industry partners to deliver major components of the GoH program.
The Canadian publishing industry extends across Canada and comprises publishers of all different sizes and genres. CANADA FBM2020 is a bilingual entity and represents English, French and Indigenous publishers from across Canada.

Job Description

CANADA FBM2020 is accepting proposals to develop, design and produce a logo/visual identity and slogan to represent Canada’s presence as the Guest of Honour for the 2020 Frankfurt Book Fair.
This logo/visual identity and slogan will be incorporated in all publications, communications, social media platforms, events and activities indoors and outdoors, big and small, related to the initiative, including the Canada Pavilion at the 2020 Frankfurt Book Fair, and will be widely recognized as Canada’s “brand.” The logo/visual identity and slogan must be presented and/or understood in French, English and German.

Requirements:

  • The selected candidate will work from his/her/their own offices, which must be located within Canada.
  • Depending on the candidate’s office location, the candidate may be required to travel.
  • All candidates may reply to this RFQ in the official language of their choice.
  • Ability to work with a bilingual committee is considered an asset.
