Organization Description

JazzYYC

JazzYYC is Calgary's jazz collaborative. We present, support and promote jazz in Calgary all year round with two festivals, an 8-concert series, and numerous events in support of International Jazz Day.

Job Description

The Board of Directors of JazzYYC is excited to announce that we are hiring two paid positions to join our organization on 6-month part-time contracts that would be subject to renewal.  For 5 years JazzYYC, has achieved measured and steady growth, with numerous sold out shows and successful festival programs, solely with the dedicated efforts of volunteers. The Board recognizes that the workload has become too heavy to continue operating with just volunteers, and has decided to take the organization to the next level by hiring support staff.

As a result, we are posting job announcements for two key positions that will report directly to the Board.

The Artistic Producer position is also a 6 month contract (with the possibility for extension) that will encompass managing and implementing the artistic vision for the Society, which includes an 8-event concert series, two separate jazz festivals in June and November, and a month of programming in April, around Jazz Appreciation Month.

This position requires direct experience in the field of artistic direction and production. Candidates are expected to be independent music/entertainment contractors with a love for jazz music.
