Job Description

Here we grow again!
The Midland Cultural Centre is the hub of cultural activities in the Southern Georgian Bay area. With over 300 events annually, the centre is widely considered to be one of the most successful in Ontario; bringing world-class entertainment, community-oriented programming, and lots more to our area. Over 50,000 visitors annually enjoy our diverse programming, and the activities of our partners Quest Art School and Gallery, Huronia Players, and Café Roxy.
The nature and scale of our activities demands a lot from our team of volunteers and our full-time and part-time staff. We are seeking to strengthen our team immediately by recruiting:
Administrative Coordinator
Reporting to the General Manager, the Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for implementing  directions and strategies.
Working in a high-paced and extremely active environment, the range of duties of this full-time salaried position will be broad, and essential to the continued success of the MCC.
A proven team-player by nature, the successful candidate will perform a high-profile roll; interacting daily with other members of the management team, volunteers, part-time employees, the general public, performers and their representatives.
Strong administrative experience is a must: as are a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel in particular), scheduling skills, and an extraordinary attention to detail. Experience in financial management will be beneficial.
Duties will include interacting with potential and existing clients, and servicing their needs from initial inquiry to the successful completion of their event, by planning, follow-up, and leading the in-house team responsible for each aspect of that success.
The MCC is a volunteer-driven organization and the loyalty and commitment of our volunteers to our success is immeasurable. Positive and effective communications with our Volunteer base is absolutely essential, and for that reason proven successes in the area of volunteer recruitment, retention and motivation would be a strong asset in this new position, as would a willingness to develop in this area.
