Toronto Youth Theatre Devising Theatre Lab

Devise and generate scripts over a 10-week period leading to public performances at  at the Lower Ossington Theatre in downtown Toronto and as part of the Toronto Mad Pride festival.

Rehearsals/devising labs will take place on Saturdays from 10:00 A.M. until 1:45 P.M. from April 29th until July 8th with final rehearsals and public performances on the evenings of July 10th-13th.

This lab is designed for ages 18 and over. We will focus on raising awareness of mental health issues as our themed topic.  Directed by British/Canadian actress/director Adeen Ashton (Les Miserables, London.  Currently a professor of voice at Sheridan College) we will use physical theatre, improvisation, voice, music, soundscape and forum theatre techniques to generate narratives that evolve into our production which will include a talk-back session with our audience.

All levels of experience are invited to apply. We wish to involve people with a passion for devising, performance and creativity.
