The Chang School’s Course Series in Arts and Entertainment Administration is suitable for arts managers, potential arts managers, and individual artists. This four-course program has been designed to equip you with entrepreneurial skills to support your creative ideas. Courses are taught by seasoned professionals who work in the cultural industry and who can help you develop the confidence to build your business. Feedback from past students is that they have immediately and successfully applied their learning into projects and employment.

The following non-credit course will be offered in evening classes on campus at Ryerson University in downtown Toronto:
Programmatic Marketing for Arts and Entertainment (CDAM 103) (19.5 hours)
Understanding and researching the components of a marketing strategy is vital to positioning individual art, a creative service, or an organization. This course covers pricing the creative product or service; identifying, reaching, engaging, and retaining an audience; required human and financial resources; and how to evaluate efforts for improvement. The strategies of traditional marketing techniques are examined within this context.

Instructor: Learn directly from Heather Kelly, Founder and CEO of HKC Marketing. Heather is an award-winning arts marketing professional with an over 20-year history of creating success for artists, arts events, and some of Toronto’s most significant cultural organizations.
